The Guest House Artist-in-Residence/ Studio Manager is a local artist living in the house’s second bedroom. The Studio Manager serves as hospitality coordinator for guests artists, being as available or hands-off as the guest artist desires. Current Studio Manager: Marina DeYoe-Padraza

We are currently accepting applications for the SVT Guest Artist House 2018-2019 Artist-in-Residence/ Studio Manager.


A local Austin artist is granted one-year of subsidized housing and an opportunity to be the Austin-artist liaison for guest artists staying at the SVT House. The local artist will have an opportunity to foster relationships with guest artists from around the world, and serve in a leadership capacity at SVT as the resident host. As the cost-of-living continues to grow, SVT wishes to provide affordable housing to an Austin-based artist who contributes to the cultural enrichment of Austin.



  • Maintain a clean home on a regular basis, clean and prepare Guest Artist room and house for guests and artists

  • Serve as Austin-liaison for Guest Artists, answering questions and responding to requests


  • Support AD’s in the management of the SVT Guest Artist room


  • Attend SVT Staff Meetings

  • Partner with SVT Staff in implementing private events at the house


Reduced housing:

  • $600/mth, all bills paid + free internet

  • Lease September 1, 2018 - August 30, 2019

  • Host your out-of-town family in the SVT Guest Artist room, based on availability

Artistic Engagement:

  • Networking/relationship opportunities with guest artists

  • First right of refusal to participate in any artistic development with guest artists.

  • $500 grant from Salvage Vanguard Theater to support an artistic project occuring during the length of the residency.  Additional experience with SVT is negotiable.

TO APPLY… Please write a letter addressed to Co- Producing Artistic Directors, Jenny Larson and Diana Small, no longer than one page, describing how you are qualified to serve as the Studio Manager (speaking directly to the job requirements listed above) and how the residency would serve your artistic work in Austin, TX for the September ‘18-August ‘19 year.
