Salvage Vanguard Theater, based in Austin TX, is a nonprofit organization that provides accessible, affordable, artistic exchange between a diverse, inclusive community of artists and audiences through high quality experiences that foster experimentation and generate conversation.
Workshop: Casta (working title) by Adrienne Dawes. In collaboration with composer Graham Reynolds. Directed by Jenny Larson. Next work-in-progress sharing in December 2017. This piece will premiere in the fall of 2019.
Workshop: House Play by Diana Small A play, part hospitality-ritual & part fable, made to-be-performed specifically in homes. When three deities are banished from the heavens they must decide if they’d rather live their earthly lives as wild animals or domesticated women. February 2017. This piece will premiere in the fall of 2018.
Mainstage: con flama by Sharon Bridgforth Directed by co-artistic director Florinda Bryant. Set in Los Angeles in the 1940s –1970s, con flama gives glimpse to a Black gurl’s coming of age, through Ancestral passages and her family history. The gurl’s story unfolds as she makes her way through the cultural landscape of Los Angeles on the bus.
